About Leon Greening: Leon Greening was born in Southampton, England, to a jazz loving father and studied piano at Leeds College of Music and The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London. His extraordinary solos, inspired by the likes of Bud Powell, Bobby Timmons, Wynton Kelly and Victor Feldman, keep the audience on the edge of their seats and mark him out as one of the finest pianists this country has ever produced. His hard swinging style has made him a favourite for well over two decades, and his intense performances have not only encouraged a loyal following but high praise from critics: “Leon Greening epitomises the assured confidence of a new generation.” – Jazz Journal “Listening to Leon’s playing is like hearing a history of post-bop piano... authentic and yet personal echoes of (all the greats)...all the more remarkable for coming from a musician of such youth.” – Clark Tracey Leon has played and recorded with many leading jazz artists including: Peter King, Jim Mullen, Spike Robinson, Clark Tracey, Steve Brown, Dave Green, Christian Brewer, Damon Brown, Alex Garnett, Matt Wates, Steve Fishwick and Nat Steele. He has performed regularly at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, 606 Club, Pizza Express Soho, Jamboree Barcelona, as well as many of the UK’s jazz venues and festivals.
